Automobile 578 was in-built 1896 by the Hammond Car Firm and is a single-truck (four-wheel), California automotive with open finish sections and an enclosed middle compartment. Automotive 755 was in-built 1895 by the Hammond Automotive Firm and is much like automotive 578. It was offered to the Presidio & Ferries Railroad in 1906. In 1913, the Muni acquired the Presidio & Ferries upon the expiration of its working franchise and the car continue to run in passenger service for the Muni until 1922.
