Since childhood, I have endured severe nearsightedness. At the age of three, I was fitted with spectacles, and since then, my life has been a continual effort to see. In 2000, a terrible accident changed my fate forever. Shattered glass injured the cornea of my right eye, and despite several medical procedures and a corneal transplant, I lost vision in that eye. Later, glaucoma developed, and after 21 years of struggling to keep my vision, I had to undergo the removal of my right eye in 2021.

Monetarily, I am unable to afford the operation. I survive on a disability pension of just $63 per month. This barely covers the eye drops that only slightly slow the progression of cataracts. Saving for an expensive surgery is simply impossible. I need the charity and support of kind-hearted people who can help me in this difficult time.
